Welcome to Homespun Farm Bed and Breakfast's National Wildlife Federation Backyard Habitat page! We are proud to be apart of this wonderful program and hope to share ideas and receive input from our visiters to this page and our home.

This is a picture of our Koi pond. It is a hand dug hole that a preformed pond form was laid in. We have 7 Koi in here as well as snails, frogs, and fresh water clams. Hardy water lilies winter over in the pond and tropical lilies and grasses are added each spring.

The pond sits under a very old cherry tree. A new tree was planted in front of it this summer for a replacement.(the old tree died in 2002 and was cut down...but the new cherry tree is producing about 20 cherries a year now!) The pond is surrounded by various types of iris, Russian Sage, corriopsis, sunflowers, mints, and heathers.

A butterfly visits our butterfly bush. This year it grew to ten feet in height over the summer!

To the rear of the property there is part of the original orchard from the 260 year old farm. There are a few apple trees still producing golden delicious, macintosh, and macoun apples each year. This year we will be re-planting new varieties of apple and peach. We have planted three different types of grapes up there by the stone wall under the arbor. Sharing with the birds is not a problem here!

It's winter now at Homespun Farm and we keep a pond heater hanging in the Koi pond for the birds and fish to stay happy and healthy. We have a shallow end with stone in it for the small birds to drink from. There are five feeding stations around the property and two other heated water areas as well.
